Collegiate Edu-Nation hosted a National Apprenticeship Week event at Cisco College to recognize our very own Joey Cook who’s one of our Edu-REACH students.
CEN's first registered apprentice, Joey Cook, was officially accepted by the U.S. Department of Labor as an “Apprentice Trailblazer”! This honor is in recognition of Joey, CEN, and industry partner support in promoting, expanding, and diversifying Registered Apprenticeship Programs.

"There were lots of reasons I was happy to attend Hamlin (one of those being the dual credit classes that allowed me to enter Angelo State as a Junior), but the best part about being a student at Hamlin, for me, was the extracurricular activities. - I was a part of One Act Play, Band, and UIL and I loved every second of them. Not only was my time spent there fun, but even my time as a drum major has helped me be able to make the decision to teach after college; and it’s given me somewhat of a “leg up” with part time jobs because of the leadership experience. - You can tell that the staff at Hamlin WANTS you to succeed. I always felt supported in everything I did by so many people—the OAP director, my UIL coaches, and my band directors. I think it’s so important that students feel supported (and I most definitely did). This is largely why I’m teaching after college - HCISD gave me the tools and the confidence to do my very best.”
“The best part about being a Hamlin Lady Piper was the expectations. The standards and values at Hamlin are high and respected. I enjoyed communicating through my teachers and enjoying all of the extracurricular activities they had to offer me. I threw myself into it all because I knew that we had a strong program and an even stronger community that would undoubtedly support all of us as students. - Now, five years later, I am seeing so many roots come to life as I coach and teach at Stamford High School. I bring experience, passion, knowledge, and confidence to any situation I am thrown into. I am able to say that I gained that from Hamlin High and kept it with me to pursue my bachelors at West Texas A&M University and now into my career.”
“The best part about being a student at Hamlin was getting a head start on my future. Graduating with my associates before I even graduated high school was huge! Hamlin has many teachers and coaches that have shaped me into a strong woman. I will forever be thankful for having them as an influence in my life!”
“I graduated with my associates degree- and with FFA life skills!!”
